THANKSGIVING IN LESLIE, IDAHO

During Thanksgiving we went sledding on the Mackay Mine Hill Road.

Grandpa Sayer has renovated and enhanced several sleds. You could coast,

at great speed I might add,

for a couple of miles. Great fun!

2010 Catch UP Post - September & October

SEPTEMBER IS LOTOJA MONTH!!

LOTOJA - 2010

Jeff loves this ride, 206 miles, 3 mountain passes, 3 state lines,

ALL IN ONE DAY!!

I provide support at 3 stops along the way. Jeff trains all summer for this ride. At the end of the ride he says he will do it again!

NEXT ADVENTURE -- SKYDIVING

Jeff has always wanted to skydive! We didn't want Jeff to jump alone ....so

Mike, Spencer, Tesa, and even I jumped with Jeff.

We all jumped tandem,

10,000 feet, 60 second free fall.

It was thrilling, breath taking (literally), so glad I did it!!

LAST RIDE OF THE SEASON

Near the end of October Jeff and I took a Saturday for a last mountain bike ride

We rode the Rails to Trails ride along the Warm River. It was a fun beautiful ride and a

great way to end the season!

2010 Catch UP Post - August

I do have a great job which allows me to enjoy the outdoors! In August we had a float trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. This was the second time I've gone down the Middle Fork and it is an amazing experience. The Middle Fork is in the heart of the Frank Church Wilderness, the largest wilderness in the lower 48 states.


We had the flexibility to have Jeff pay his own way -- he got to come and experience the Middle Fork too!

Middle Fork of the Salmon River is a beautiful place, no cell phone coverage, beautiful scenery, great conversation, some fishing, floating, rowing..... paradise.

2010 Catch UP Post - July

Jeff entered a bike ride called Tour of the California Alps "Death Ride" - five mountain passes, 15,000 vertical feet, 126 miles in 12 hours. They did not allow personal support crews so I stayed at home and received pictures like this one that Jeff took on the ride. At the end of the race Jeff phoned me and said, "I finished!! -- that's the good news! The other good news, I'm not going to ride in the Death Ride again!" He does love his road biking!

Laney and Abby stayed with us for most of July. One of the weekends we took them to "The Park" which in Idahoese means Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We saw 10 bears, 8 were grizzlies, a wolf, many bison, many elk, deer, you know the usual YNP species.

2010 Catch UP Post - JUNE

As 2010 comes to an end I have a list of happenings that I have not posted on this year -- I'll start by sorting them out by months. My New Years Resolution is that I stay current during 2011... We'll see how I do.

The first weekend of June Amy, Lara, and I rode in our 2nd Little Red Riding Hood (LRRH) ride. This ride takes place in the Logan Valley. LRRH is a women only ride that benefits women's cancer research. Jeff is a great support crew member for us. Lara rode 100 miles, Amy rode 35 miles, and I rode 80 miles. It is always so much fun for me to ride with Amy and Lara.
